I love Steinbeck (my favourite is East of Eden), Sylvia Plath, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Bill Bryson, Kurt Vonnegut, Carol Shields,biographies, sociology books such as Nickled and Dimed and No Logo, I like reading old school Agatha Christie and sassy chick novels when I'm on the beach. To Kill a Mockingbird is one of the greatest books of all time, and as hard as I may try I just cannot appreciate Dickens, and am not a big fan of fantasy or sci-fi, but everything else is fair game. How can you list all your favourite books? This is an ongoing list..

I adore old black and white movies, Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn. My favourite movie is The Philadelphia Story. Casablanca, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Love Actually, Secretary, James Bond movies, Back to the Future series, and many many more. I like most things, but action is not high on my list unless it has witty dialogue. Another ongoing list that I may never complete, just like the favourite record list in High Fidelity.

Music: Old swing singers, jazz, blues, alternative music, The Wombats, The Cold War Kids, Soko, show tunes, Ben Kweller, Oasis, Sufjan Stevens, Lior, Jeff Buckley, The Hilltop Hoods, The Kinks. Eclectic and varied, all is appreciated (although metalheads need not apply)

Food: everything. I can cook, and sometimes succeed in what I'm making. I collect recipe books and kind of drool over the pictures like they're food porn. I love trying new things out. Greek, Japanese and hawker Malaysian are my favourites, but there are just some days you can't go past a burger.
