I figured it was probably about time that I updated this. I'm a very introspective person with a tendency to obsess about things. I'm also quite shy and have a good deal of trouble talking to people if I'm out of my element. At the same time, when comfortable I'm really personable and reach the level of witty. I'm pretty sure I have a good head on my shoulders, but I keep my heart in charge, so for better or for worse, that's the way I'm lead.

I consider myself a writer without question. I feel like it's my calling to produce work that will reach people- some larger groups, some smaller- and more importantly, satisfy myself. I'm glad to say that I am, in some way, working towards this.

I just started a new job as a content editor for an industrial publisher. It's a pretty big adjustment, what with the commuting to the city and being part of corporate America, but it's going alright. Beyond that, I'm getting into writing comic books (which I love).

Writing and playing ping pong. Though the ping pong part is really only comparative. I have been schooled in the past.

If they actually talk to me, it's

Or

"Hey, you're pretty funny."

Depending on my mood.

Books- Off the top of my head, I've really enjoyed "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck, "The Quiet American" by Graham Greene, "Mucho Mojo" and "The Two-Bear Mambo" by Joe Lansdale, and we'll close off with "Hamlet." It's a kids' book, but everyone should read "Maniac Magee" by Jerry Spinelli. As far as comics go, we've got Amazing Spider-Man, Captain America, Fantastic Four, and really anything by Stan Lee or Ed Brubaker.

Movies- The Big Lebowski (and pretty much anything in the Coen brothers' oeuvre), Star Wars (all six, leave me alone), Spider-Man, The Blues Brothers, Ghostbusters 1 and 2, Death to Smoochy, The Omen (the original, of course), Billy Madison, Clifford, hordes more "classic" 90s comedies.

Music- Johnny Cash, Elton John, The Who, Alanis Morissette, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Rod Stewart, Black Sabbath. I'm not huge into music, but I suppose my tastes are fairly varied.

Food- Sushi, Italian, Mexican, barbecue, and of course, breakfast cereal.

TV- King of the Hill, Futurama, Jeopardy!, The Colbert Report, Chappelle's Show, Arrested Development, Blackadder, Married... with Children, The Venture Brothers, The Price is Right, The Simpsons until 1995.

I spend a lot of time thinking, period. Lately, it's been about more love/companionship oriented things, but there's not really a set of rules. I'll obsess over my relationships with others, what I'm going to write, how I'm going to spend my time, what I need to do to improve myself, etc.

Probably hanging out with my group of close friends, doing something low-key: going out to eat, renting a movie, playing pool/ping pong/cards, maybe some Rock Band or something... or driving around and trying to figure out what to do.

I'm not really "in control" at all. It just sounded nice up there.

When I write to you, I will make bad jokes. It's just my way of trying to be friendly and funny, yet completely innocuous and reassuring.

I spent three months in Calgary last year training to be a professional wrestler.
