I am a professor of writing at a small community college. I enjoy being outdoors and love animals - particularly dogs. I have a great love of knowledge, reading, and the various ways people gain their knowledge of the world.

As for what people really need to know about me - I like to give the benefit of the doubt...at first. I am willing to trust, but once that trust is broken, it is hard to regain. I am a bit arrogant in that I figure anyone who does not treat me right is not worth my time because they do not appreciate the awesomeness that is me. ;-) (I know emoticons are silly, but sometimes they are the only way to be sure readers see the joke for what it is - a joke.) I treat everyone with respect until they prove they don't deserve it and I expect the same from those I interact with; high standards, I know, especially for this day and age, but what can I say - I was raised to be a bit old-fashioned in this stuff.

I have taken "casual encounters" off the list of what I am looking for since, while I am open to meeting men once we have talked and established a mutual attraction, most guys on here seem to think that is an open invite to be pushy rather than seductive. Here is a hint guys - there is a line between desperate and desirable. When you keep pushing too much, you cross that line.

Beyond all this though, I generally take people as they come and if we don't mesh, we don't - no harm, no foul. If we do, though, we can become great friends - or even more.

As the semester begins, I am working on my courses and starting a new Master's degree, my second, so life is a bit busy. I am continuing to get healthier and stronger, physically. The rest of my time is spent on spiritual pursuits (highly personal - I am not likely to talk about this unless I have been talking to you long enough to truly trust you) and social growth.

Listening, learning, teaching, and talking

I am quite tall - especially for a woman(6 feet tall, to be exact)

Books - too many to really name...I am an avid reader and consume books as a source of mental nourishment.

Movies - I like a wide variety, but have a particular fondness for stoner comedies, smart chic flicks, and action thrillers (especially action films based on comic books)

Music and food tastes vary based on my mood and what is available, both of which are highly ecclectic

Insane random stuff - I am a daydreamer and a fiction writer (I don't share my stories). These things are fed by my thoughts which flit without landing for too long unless they are desperately needed. :-)

Hanging out with friends either at one of their houses, at a restaurant, or at a bar listening to music and goofing around. If I have had a long week or plan to spend the weekend grading papers, I can be found decompressing on my couch watching recorded episodes of The Ultimate Fighter or Top Chef

I don't believe in wearing pajamas in bed - they are merely for show when I need to be out of the bed, but plan to crawl right back into it.
