OkCupid: ¡Ahora, en Inglés!
Today is Sunday, April 4th or 5th or so and I've decided to rewrite
all this. Not for any particular reason. I haven't changed,I just
want to change this.
I am a label reader. I'll make sure nothing scary is hiding in the
food I buy. I want to know where my shoes were made. However, when
we are talking about people, labels are not always good. Too easily
will you take that label and apply a dozen others to me as well or
use it to cram me into a box where I don't quite fit. If you
promise you won't do that, here are some words I frequently use to
identify myself: bisexual, vegetarian, non-religious, liberal,
intellectual, a bit of a hippie, a bit of a dork. See, do you think
you know me now? Maybe, maybe not. Each one of those words can be
turned into a paragraph about who I am. That might be a future
journal project.
Some things I believe:
Love is important. Love comes in many variations. We never stop
growing. The president is a huge moron. Drugs are bad. Education is
important. you should be able to take care of yourself, but not
have to. Things are not as important as people. What you believe in
is more important than most other things about you. The most
efficient way to change the world is to work within the system. If
there is a higher power, it must be female. Everyone should do
their best
Some things I don't believe:
that you're a witch. That I'm better than you That you are better
than me. That crystals can heal anything. Oh fuck, I don't know
what else to put here. This was a beautiful idea in my head, when I
know how to make it happen, I'll finish it.
If you are trying to figure out who I am and whether or not you
want to know me, use my whole profile. Read my journals, look at my
test scores. Everything gives you glimpses into my head. Then talk
to me.

Busy being a mom. I have a fantastic son, who is almost 4. He
spends half his time with his dad (fair is fair), so when he's with
me quality time is VERY important.
Trying to decide whether to stay with my non-for profit, kick ass,
super creative, satisfying yet emotionally draining job and be poor
or go do something else.
Spending a large amount of time thinking/talking about food: where
it came from, who grew it, how did it get here , who suffered for
it etc.

teaching. I thrive in front of a captive audience, I love to talk
about my passion(s).You could tell me now that I have to give a 2
hour lecture to 500 people in 5 minutes from now, and I'll be just
fine. And the 500 people will leave thinking that I was so
well-prepared.
Learning. I pick up new things easily All sorts of word games and
things
Baking
mothering
procrastinating
being a very good girl when it matters

MOVIES: I'm not super into movies. I can't mention you know that
guy, that played xy in the movie z. Let me try for a second to
write a list of movies that have stuck with me and then you can
decide if it says anything about me : The Game; Lock, Stock and Two
Smoking Barrels; Pan's Labyrinth; Clueless; Chocolat; Catch me if
you can. Ok, can't think of any others right now
MUSIC: Local folks that can put on a show, stuff with good lyrics,
stuff like this: Must Be Tuesday, S.J. Tucker/Skinny White Chick,
Neko Case and Susan Tedeschi

ingredients. I love local food, I frequent farmers' markets and
talk to the farmers. I want to grow stuff. I can cook.

If it's my turn to have the little man, I'm probably at home making
dinner, playing board games, putting together some sort of
Transformer or Lego project and then spending my down time with my
laptop or a good book. If I'm solo, who knows? playing with
friends, watching some live music, at the bookstore...

In the last few years I've discovered a lot of things about myself.
What makes me happy, what works for me, what I need, what I want.
It's been a surprise-filled, difficult and fun road. I've learned a
lot. The better/more I know WHAT it is I want, the easier it is to
GET it, makes sense, huh?
I've been looking for a good place to mention the whole girl thing,
let's talk about it right here. My mind/heart/body works like this:
Guys are necessary, girls are more of a bonus thing

you wanna be my friend, it's that simple :) I'd love to meet some
local, similar-minded people that I could get to know in "real
life" and see what happens...
